This is a chanting of 68 of the final verses from the Mahāvamsa. It was customary in the Medieval period to finish each chapter with a flourish by including a verse written in one of the Classical metres. This collection serves to provide examples of those metres, and they have now been read in to accompany the text, so that students can get a better understanding of the underlying rhythms of the metres used in the Medieval texts.
